Madrid Film Calendar brings together information published by cinemas and open sources to help you find what to watch in Madrid. This page explains where it comes from and how we transform it.
The calendar starts with schedules, programmes and booking pages published by Madrid cinemas, festivals and cultural institutions. We reconcile them and turn them into comparable sessions without replacing their official pages or ticketing systems.
This project exists thanks to Madrid cinemas.

For part of the municipal cultural programme, we use the Activities and events agenda from Madrid Open Data.

Madrid Film Calendar selects cinema-related entries, turns them into individual sessions and combines them with other sources. It also normalizes titles, venues, dates, times, free-entry status and screening details. The data has therefore been adapted and combined before being published here.
The original dataset is available under a CC BY 4.0 licence. Madrid Open Data remains the source of those records. Madrid City Council does not participate in, sponsor or endorse this service.
Some film posters and metadata come from TMDB. Where available, each film retains a link to its original record.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Madrid Film Calendar links to public film pages and clearly labels some metrics sourced from Letterboxd. If you choose to import your personal Letterboxd export, it is used only to mark films you have seen and personalize recommendations. Letterboxd is an independent service and does not sponsor or endorse Madrid Film Calendar.
